The Central Bank Governor Mr. Tarek Amer, The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, and the Ambassador of France in Egypt, Mr. Stefan Romate, witnessed the official launch of the first competition of its kind for startups in Egypt @ Smart Village Club in the presence of more than 300 participants.
The competition came as a result  of a French-Egyptian joint in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship, and was following the visit of the President of the French Republic to Egypt in January 2019, with the aim of strengthening self-employment and maximizing growth opportunities for the companies related to  the field of digital services .
This competition aspires to provide an opportunity for development for Egyptian startups that have the ability to grow in the common priority sectors for cooperation between France and Egypt “health, financial technology, and sustainable cities”, and to help them become leading companies in the field of digital transformation. This competition could not have come to light except through the support of more than 15 French companies, including AXA, Credit Agricole, Orange, Schneider Electric, Danone, Sanofi and Valeo with extensive experience in these three sectors.
